I bought this book after attending a brief seminar with the author for our homeschool group. I have to say it is some of the best, most clearly presented information on this critically important subject I have seen. Mr. Ball has distilled his decades of experience in Law Enforcement into a very brief guide with actionable steps and tactics on how to survive what is becoming a very real threat in today's world. I really like his emphasis on things we can DO to help save ourselves and others in an active shooter situation, as opposed to passively cowering in fear and hoping we won't be next in the killer's sights. As recent events have shown, the sad truth is there is no guarantee when it comes to deranged, evil people intent on killing; but the information in this book will certainly help you improve your family's chance of survival if you are ever faced with this type of horror.Product details

Excellent and concise work. The author speaks to the reader in the first person with a familiar and engaging tone. I purchased this book with a desire to learn more on the subject - a journey that began for me shortly after Columbine. This book led me to further resources for which I am most enthused and grateful.
Interesting.
This book is a short read but has the necessary information that will assist anyone when confronted with an active shooter event. The reader needs to understand they need to change the way they look at things and how they need to respond to those situations.
Great book easy read will make you think twice about your surroundings amd what tools are close by ahould you nees them.
Very short little handbook (pamphlet) on mass shooter situations. Quick 10 minute read. Material is brief but to the point. No bad as a primer to get you thinking of what to do in these situations.
This was okay, a good primer for those who have no idea on a self-defense mindset. However, if you have any amount of training or situational awareness this is all stuff you will already know. It's 27 pages long and 3 of them are just a list of improvised weapons that are commonly found in offices or schools.
The TL;DR version of this book is "pay attention to your surroundings, know where exits are, have a gun/knife if you can and if you can't use something heavy or sharp as a weapon"
I like this book because it is simple and to the point, not a long winded page by page explanation. It’s unfortunate that we even need a book like this today, but with active shooters becoming more and more commonplace, this is the time for action.
This books goes over several scenarios of active shooters, how to use the environment to your advantage, what items to carry/use and how to have the right psychology when dealing with an active shooter situation. It’s a great book and I highly suggest it to keep on you at all times in your kindle or if in paperback form in your bug out bag or office as a reference guide and to help you make a plan should such an event ever occur.
